Yoda Knows

[ yoda ] "Do, or Do Not, There is No Try!" [ / yoda ]

How can a little green frog man know so much about internet marketing and life in general? Yoda doesn't leave any room for failure, with this philosophy for success. In the scene where Yoda makes this famous statement he is instructing the young Jedi Luke Skywalker on how to lift his space ship out of the swamp. The situation looks impossible and Luke fails after his attempt to lift the ship because he was only trying. Yoda on the other hand knows he can do it and lifts the ship to safety. Luke is amazed at his abilities but Yoda knew all along that it was really a simple task when using the force. Faith in the force and his own abilities made it possible and even easy for Yoda to accomplish the task.

Yoda's simple statement says stop trying. Trying gets you nowhere, and I have found this to be one of the hardest things to implement in my internet marketing career. However when I do it is the only time I find any measure of success.

I have often been frustrated with a lack of response from others when I try to do something online to get them to buy a product or service from me. As long as my success is in the customers hands I am almost guaranteed to fail. Customers are hard to understand sometimes. They make choices based on one thing one day and on something else the next. Sometimes they seem incredibly interesting and then decide at the last minute not to buy. You can't base your worth or your expectation of success on whether or not your customers are responding. You should however base your marketing plan on what they are responding to.

So I have started asking myself what can I do? Not what can I try to do. I can write articles. I can post in forums. I can make new friends online. There are a lot of avenues for promoting my business online. But for everything that I have ever tried to do there is a matching failure.

So DO SOMETHING make a list of what you can do and determine to do it daily. No matter what response you get or don't get. If you find something is a waste of time don't do it again no matter what. And whatever you do. Stop Trying!!

To the Top, Baqhnara
